Farmers’ protest against recent agri-bills gathers momentum, not returning back despite heavy force police exerts

‘Delhi Cholo’: Lodging protest against the Centre’s recent three agriculture-related bills removing government’s control on sale of farmers’ produce farmers have been marching towards Delhi. Delhi Police comes under the direct control of Indian Union government put barricades to stop them from entering Delhi citing Covid norms. Farmers not deterred by chilling water-cannon shower or tear-gas ask, if Covid norms did not apply to Prime Minister addressing rally in Bihar elections. Farmers show no-signs of returning back. Punjab and Hariyana, two major agrarian Indian states, border Delhi while farmers from these two states call ‘Delhi Cholo’ in wake of three recent agri-bills which they consider would benefit the corporates and ruin farmers.
